Web Typography Sucks.

Part one of a large collection of letters that don't belong. Their frustrations run high with wonky curves, unsightly shapes and families that just don't want them anymore.

2007 is the year for winning contests. I, friends, am the winner of those contests. Well, at least one of them, so far. More to be announced as they happen. I came across this piece of text while perusing my daily blogs, from Birdmonster:
We had a little contest before our New Year's show, asking folks to send in their presale ticket receipts so we could draw one and then end up playing at that person's house. It seemed like a nice "thanks" for people spending their New Year's with us, which I was kind of humbled by and very appreciative of. (My 11th grade English teacher just read that sentence and cried). Anyway: we concocted a robust and expensive randomizing tool (names on paper in a hat) and selected a name.* The winner is Ms. Zara Evans. We will be contacting her, presenting a bouquet of incredibly cheap flowers (maybe just wadded up newspaper, honestly), and one of those sashes that Miss USA gets.
F*#@ Yeh! Take that groupies, I am still number one. Now, of course before these lovely boys play a set in my home, or some other noise-proofed establishment, at the greatest party evar, I will have to give them a brief history of my surname, then explain that there is a difference between the Welsh version and the English version and that yes, the Welsh version does exist.
Don't you worry now, I will be inviting all my people to the event (um, yeh my 30th birthday is coming up), and if you'd like to get on MY guest list, then I advise you start thinking of wonderful ways to shower me with praise. I enjoy shiny things, plastic letters, beer and soft pillows.
